An avatar is a physical manifestation of a deity on the natural world. It is usually significantly less powerful than the deity it represents. It is synonymous with the term Primal Representative, that is, "any form, object, being, device, sample or representation of a deities power directly and identifiably evident in the world."[1]
Some deities, like Falerin Ardendor, have analogues which they choose to use as messengers or avatar, e.g. what Lanfiré Dupré, Arden and the Traveller are to Falerin. In other cases, the very presence of a deity in 'mortal' form is referred as an avatar, as is the case with "Lauren" to Lorithia, and "Galian" to her husband, The'Galin. The latter is also known to choose an individual of his Network to become his manifestation or avatar, Omega.
The Lorian Annunaki, a parasitic race of reptilians that bind themselves to their hosts' souls, use the term "Avatar" to refer to their leaders, a group of eight Annunaki that represent primal aspects of creation, forces that antedate the elements, which became mirrors of Lorithia's creation on Lore (Mostly Harmful).
