Knight Class/Pria/Level 10

One of Knight Class's eleventh quests and the final quest for Pria Knights.

Summary

Queen Tyranna has announced a tournament where the victor will be allowed to end the war on their terms. Tathlin suspects trickery, but decides to use the opportunity and sends the Chosen to represent Rennd. S/he bests the leaders of the other orders, but something seems off: Cerin coldly accuses Rennd of fighting for less-than-noble reasons and neither General Herous nor Demon Lord Eir have any intention of ceasing the hostilities.

With the tournament over, s/he demands the execution of every demon under Tyranna's command. Tyranna willingly hands over the Crimson Legion, killing Eir herself when he defies her orders, but refuses to sacrifice any of her other soldiers as they are not guilty of the Crimson Legion's war crimes. When Tathlin objects, Cerin steps in to arrest him and Herous on charges of warring against Stormfallen under false pretenses. He further announces that Deren is pulling out of the war and will effectively ally itself with Stormfallen should Rennd and Granemor choose to reopen the conflict. Tathlin withdraws but promises to make Deren pay for its treachery once he and Herous have rebuilt their forces.

Dialogue

Tathlin: I am proud to say that you are a fully-trained Pria Knight, my friend. I have no more skills to teach you, and I am proud to stand by your side against the demons of the West.
Tathlin: Tyranna has sent a messenger claiming that she wants to end the war! And she has requested some sort of tournament...
Tathlin: I don't know if she can be trusted, but we may as well try. It's a chance for us to smite the demon legions in the name of justice!
Tathlin: Surely I don't have to tell you who I think is best for the job. Make Rennd proud, friend.

• I'm honored.

Tathlin: Thank you, my friend! I will be at your side when the fiends reveal whatever treachery they have planned.

• Let's go!

Returns you to the Knight menu

You must compete against champions from each of the rival kingdoms! If you can beat them at their best, your kingdom will earn the right to dictate the terms for the end of the war! Don't forget to use your class armor! You must wear your kingdom's colors in battle!

Regardless of choice, the dialogue you receive is the same. If you are in Normal Mode, you must equip Pria Knight Armor to deal damage.

Cerin: I hope that you are fighting for honorable reasons, young Knight, for you can be certain that your kingdom is not.

Cerin leaves the scene.

«You»: (thinking) What did he mean by that?

Full Heal

General Herous: Impressive! A shame that you didn't choose to join our ranks. We could have used a warrior of your skill.
«You»: I am proud of my choice. And I look forward to our victory in this war.
General Herous: Ha! The war shall never end, even if you do win. The peace can only be kept for so long....

Herous leaves the scene.

«You»: (thinking) We shall see.

Full Heal

Demon Lord Eir: A meaningless victory, foolish human. The war will continue for so long as I command the Crimson Legion!
Demon Lord Eir: And next time that we meet in battle shall be your last!

Eir leaves the scene.

«You»: (thinking) I sincerely doubt that.

Tathlin, Cerin, Herous, Tyranna and Eir gather in the arena.

Tyranna: Congratulations, «You». You have won the tournament.
Tyranna: Your kingdom may choose the terms of the war's conclusion.
«You»: Truthfully, I and my army have grown weary of war. But you demons have much to answer for.
«You»: Especially you, Tyranna! Therefore, we demand that all of your demons submit themselves to justice by our knights!
Demon Lord Eir: What ridiculous terms! You think you can just exterminate us, do you?
Tyranna: Silence!
Demon Lord Eir: ....my Queen?
Tyranna: All members of the Crimson Legion will submit themselves for extermination, or I shall kill you myself.
Demon Lord Eir: But... my Queen! I have been loyal to you....
Tyranna: Do you think I was not aware of your experimentation with corruption magic? Or your refusal to grant safe harbor for civilians?
Tyranna: Submit yourself and your troops to Rennd's judgment.
Demon Lord Eir: I... I will not obey those orders! You are a weak queen, taking orders from a human! I shall....

Tyranna turns and strikes down Eir

Tyranna: You shall do nothing, worm.
Tyranna: As you asked, the Crimson Legion is yours to kill. They are all traitors anyways. However....
Tyranna: You may not kill any of my other troops. They are guilty of no crime and you are hardly virtuous enough to pass judgment on them.
Tathlin: You dare dishonor our agreement, demon?
Tyranna: You dare speak of honor, after the crimes you and the General here have committed? Cerin, what do you have to say about this?
Cerin: In the name of King Tralin of Deren, I hereby arrest you, Sir Tathlin of Rennd and General Herous of Granemor.
«You»: WHAT?!? I thought Deren's knights were our allies!
General Herous: Arresting us? On what charges?
Cerin: Your armies have been falsely perpetuating the war against Stormfallen. We have examined historical records and found that they have been falsified.
Tathlin: What a slanderous lie!
Cerin: Ah, but it is not. My king is certain enough of it that he is pulling his support from the war, effective immediately.
Cerin: Any further attacks against Stormfallen will be treated as an act of war against Deren, with the appropriate reaction.
Tathlin: ....treacherous dogs! As you wish, then. We shall withdraw and rebuild our forces....
Tathlin: But mark my words. Once we have rebuilt, we will come back stronger than ever.
Tathlin: And you will pay for your betrayal!

It seems that the endless war in the Western Expanse has ceased for now... but it is a very uneasy peace. Even now, the four kingdoms are rebuilding, gathering their strength for when the war begins anew. And when it does, all of Lore might be engulfed in the chaos that follows! Knowing this, you depart for other adventures... but you must remain ever-vigilant, for no one knows when the peace shall be broken....

If you fought in Hard Mode, a shop opens for you (see below). If you fought in Normal Mode, you get the following instead.
