The Beacon, also known as The Vault and The Safe!, is the sixteenth quest in the Devourer Saga. It starts the second part of the quest chain, named "The Return", focusing on the character known as the Huntress.
Though it requires level 32 to be accessed through Devourer Saga questchain found on Yulgar's Inn, lower level players may play it if they go through the library on Isle d'Oriens, by clicking the candle, since it has no level restrictions then.

The Eternal: Greetings. As the Eternal, I have seen many things throughout my centuries of life. But my immortality is as much a burden as it is a gift.
The Eternal: The secret of my safe has been revealed to many. Within it I had hidden a clock long ago, counting down to a most dreaded moment in history--
The Eternal: That time is now upon us. Open the safe and see for yourself... and may all of us hope for strength and wisdom in the coming storm!

Click the vault's handle to continue. You can also hit the Back button to go to Isle d'Oriens.
Inside the vault, the dials flash until they are all red - at which point, they glow red. A beam shoots off of Lore, flies through space, and eventually hits one of Lore's moons. The "moon" gains a red aura and two eerie red eyes, revealing itself as one of The'Galin's forms.

- The code to open the vault used to be: 3 13 blue 8 5. Now, any code input will open it.

- This quest was released on March 24th, 2006, alongside: Isle d'Oriens, Library, Boiler Room, Leaving Isle d'Oriens, Adder's Forge, Lady Tomo's Room, Falerin's Room, The Wall, Catch Lady Tomo's Doves, The Maze, Pae's Quest, Airship Quest, Attack on the Drakel Domed City Time Scroll, as well as Necromancer Class.
- Released in March 2006, it predates all quests from Sun and Sand up to The Shadow Master, quests that precede The Beacon in the questchain.
